YSCO - Youth Sailing Curacao
In merely seven years Youth Sailing Curaçao has grown to a club which proudly boasts a membership of 145 with activities from moonlight sailing and pirate games on the water to world-class level of top coaching. YSCO is a professional Optimist and Splash club for young sailors between 6 and 18 years of age. The club is run by an enthusiastic board of 5 parents and instruction is given by 3 professional coaches. Since its establishment in 2001, YSCO has been responsible for an enormous growth in the number of youth sailors on Spanish Water.
YSCO maintains its home base at the beautifully situated Asiento Yacht Harbor at Brakkeput but recently the top level kids also have been sailing out of Cat Sailing Curaçao located right at the beach of Jan Thiel.
Throughout the year YSCO organizes sailing lessons and training for kids at every level. YSCO awards official sailing diplomas. Our top sailors train 4 times a week and compete at regional Caribbean, International and World Championships with promising and rapidly improving results.
Although much thought is given to performance, fun and team spirit are of paramount importance. Fun activities as, full moon sailing, treasure water hunts, knot races and sailing camps are the roots of the success of our club.
